Job Summary of Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Maintenance Mechanic:

UPS is hiring a Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanic to support maintenance activities that ensure UPS package handling facilities operate efficiently. This fast-paced role requires interaction with various hub employees and candidates must be available to work across all shifts in a 24/7 operation. A strong electrical background is required, and candidates must pass an electrical assessment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Maintenance Mechanic:

• Troubleshoots, adjusts, and replaces AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo-driven equipment, photoelectric devices, transducers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and encoders.
• Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
• Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces pneumatic equipment such as diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
• Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
• Welds equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating as defined by the scope of work.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.

Qualifications and Experience of Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Maintenance Mechanic:

• Strong electrical background and must pass electrical assessment.
• Availability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a 24/7 operation.
